City-Hop: 2 Boston on a Saturday

Intro

If you are following my blog,
about getting from Houston to Boston.
If not, here's a summary.
My goal is to travel cheap
with just a backpack
from Houston to Boston
to Chicago to Myrtle Beach.

And... you're caught up.

Samuel Adams Tour

Woke up on the couch
and made some coffee
with my host's mew mew

Amanda met me where I'm staying
and I got to meet Kate!
Kate was a lot of fun.

We walked over to the brewery
(because I'm withing
walking distance)
and ate there at ULA.

Getting to ULA
from Sam Adams
was a trip.
It's in the building across
from the entrance of
brewery tours.
Then, you follow signs
down a rabbit hole
and through a tunnel.
If I did it right,
you can find my video
on Instagram with
#ulatosam

The tour was short,
free (they just ask
for a donation),
fun,
and we got free samples
and a glass!
It was essentially one big room
with a wall separator.
We also found out
they don't really brew there.
It's more for testing.
Still.
Free tour, free beer!

Chris was our tour guide
and he was funny
and a fast talker.
Gold stars for Chris!

Left to right:
Kate, spice rocket, Chris, me

Our samples were
Boston lager
Summer ale
and.... keller?
I didn't quite catch
the name of the last one.
If you know it,
let me know.

Boston Library

I loved walking around
the library.
It reminded a bit
of the library tours
I took in Dublin
on Culture Night.
(That's where you get in
a lot of places for free,
it's awesome).

To me,
it's a romantic location.
And I did my best
not to get too distracted.
Amanda once made the comment
that when I do get distracted,
it's hard to find me
cause I blend in
with all the other hipsters!
Hehehe

Walking Around Boston

We saw the finish line,
Edgar Allen Poe statue,
duck walking statue,
ponds,
capital,
etc etc.
Boston is a walkable city.

Drinks

There was plenty
of alcohol involved...

And some tea and coffee
with macaroons.
Kate got all the flavors
and it was amazing.
Since I'm lactose intolerant
I just nibbled little tastes.

Seals

Right outside the aquarium,
just behind the ticket booth,
you can see the seals.

Holocaust Memorial

We ended the night
with a walk through
the Holocaust Memorial
with steam.
It was quite morbid.

Boston and Sports

One thing I'd love to point out...
Bostonians love their teams.
Yesterday was
Kentucky Derby
and a hockey night.

Winding Down

I got back to my host,
finished watching the
hockey game with her,
prepared the couch,
left for a moment,
and then found my cuddle buddy
already snoozing.

Outro

Today, I'll be hanging out
with Amanda again!
There's just so much
to see in Boston
that I won't be able
to justify
such a short stay.
Nonetheless,
I'm excited to see
what we get into today.
