City-Hop: 11 Anxiety in Chicago
Intro
Although I briefly go over
my anxiety issues here,
I'll have another post that
goes into detail about how
I tried to manage it.
Morning's Anxiety
The initial plan was to
get out early and hit the ground
running.
There were a few places I
wanted to see.
And then it hit.
I felt overwhelmed,
despite reasoning telling me
I was fine.
I felt that unwelcoming
sense of needing to sit
on the ground and
do nothing.
I don't always
do well with it.
I can't always just
get over it within
a few minutes
or even a few
hours.
This time, I was
fortunate enough to
get it all together within
a few minutes.
Despite the intense
part last just minutes,
it actually took up
about the whole morning.
So, I started the trip midday.
Millennium Park
After grabbing a bite
to eat, I headed to
The Art Institute of
Chicago.
That place is huge and
highly recommended.
Sadly, because I didn't
get there when I wanted,
I only had time
for about one or two
sections
Next was Millennium Park
which is right by
the Art Institute.
There's plenty to
walk around and see,
including Cloudgate and
Crown Fountain.
I did a little
photoshoot with anxiety
in mind.
It was a kind of success.
I, once again, was
faced with the reality
that I am a photographer.
Not a model.
There were flowers
and paths
and other artwork
and a fountain.
Bathrooms, too,
thank goodness.
Nerd Enough?
On the way back, I
stopped at a comic store.
Then watched the
Game of Thrones episode
I'd missed the night before.
So what if I did get a comic?
No way I'm ranting about
Karaoke
Met Keri
For drinks and
karaoke!
It was a lot of fun,
of course. It was like
a typical bar.
I didn't sing
at all. But I did
enjoy a couple
cocktails.

Outro
Sometimes, I need to give
myself a moment. This becomes
way more apparent in
tomorrow's post.
