City-Hop: 10 DeKalb to Chicago
Intro
I spent the morning with
Tanner and
the evening at the Cubs
game with Mario.
Tanner
Tanner is a chill guy
whom I met when we were
teenagers in Virginia.
Then I moved to Texas
and he moved to Ohio.
We were so close, but
years have gently pulled
us apart. So it was great
to see him again. Instead of
taking the bus into Chicago, he
offered to drive me to the train.
Which I accepted. That way,
we had an extra hour to
I took some photos and then
waited for the train.
Train Ride with Strangers
I met a girl who was
21 and on her way into
the city to see her
boyfriend play.
I don't even want to
talk about ticketing and
those details so I'll save
that for another post.
One thing about it,
though,
you could tell the
rail worker was bored
out of his mine. I
caught his attention
and he started making
childhood jokes.
Like what do you get
when you cross an
elephant and an albino...
Cubs vs Brewers
This was a lot of fun!
But it was also freezing cold
and we
(Mario and I)
hadn't thought to bring
a blanket.
So I bought one!
We got there a couple
hours early and
had loaded hot dogs
and a beer.
6th, inning, I had
to use the restroom but
there were attendants
who kept the flow quick
and sufficient.
The game started off
as a close one. But
the Cubs got a home run
and eventually won 4 to 1.
I'm not a sports person
so I can't really say much
too enlightening.
But I did catch some awful
videos in slo-mo.
Outro
Yesterday was a
good day.
I got to spend half
of it with Tanner
and half if it
with Mario.
The downside was that
my anxiety hit
the moment I stepped
out into downtown
Chicago,
which I wasn't supposed
to do, but had missed
my stop.
I'm writing a different post
about the anxiety, though.
Now, I'm at the
Art Institute of Chicago!
So I'll be writing about
that tomorrow.
