City-Hop: 6 Salem to Chicago

Intro

Holy crap is it nice to
be sitting at a computer
and typing with a keyboard
instead of my phone!

At this point, I am about
a third of way through
my trip.
Boston and Salem, check!

Getting To The Airport

The cheapest option
to get from Salem to
Boston Logan International Airport
If I'm reading this correctly,
it should be $5 or $4 with the card.
But I never found out, because
the bus shared a stop with bus 455.
I waited for 40 minutes because
the bus was late. Then, bus 455
came. And bus 459
completely passed me up!
The next bus wasn't for another hour.

Sighs.

I was hungry and I was
out early. So instead of dealing
with it, I got a Lyft to
Andy's Breakfast & Lunch
in Lynn, which was huge
and yummy and I  totally
commend if you're there!
And then I got another Lyft
driver, Russell, who took me
to the Boston airport.

$5 vs $40 ($30 with my discount).
Meh. I think it was
worth it, though.

Russell

Russell was a trip.
He had a Seth Rogen
kind of vibe, a great
sense of humor and very
passionate ideas with people
and politics. He was fun.
I got mega bestie vibes
from this guy.
I just had to point him out.
Just like he pointed out
a homeless guy who looked
like he lost his way
from Mardi Gras.

There were some areas,
including Boston and Chicago,
where Lyft and Uber drivers were
on strike. But it didn't
really seem to effect me, personally,
as there were still drivers around.

Boston Airport

The airport was kind of small,
plenty of places to charge your phone
which I appreciated,
and there was a good healthy,
burger joint near my gate.

Side note, I took out
all my things from
those plastic bags and just
folded them in a cube box,
Marie Condo style.
It worked wonders!

Airline Connections

I debated on how much to
disclose, and have decided
I'm going to be pretty
transparent.

I met a guy at the airport.
He was funny and nice
and gave a pretty chill vibe.
We sat across each other
on the plane, but I had window seat.
So, I folded up my name and
number into a paper airplane
and handed it off to him.

He messaged me after the flight
and we started talking.
And then, I discovered...
I am a decade his senior.
He's also intelligent and
a sweet person, so I'll
try not to hold his youth
against him!

Chicago Ventra

I got a Ventra from the
airport (you follow the
signs to CTA) and added
$10 to it, since I didn't know
how much to put on it.
Total cost was $15. If
you are only staying for a day
or a weekend, and you know
the system will take you
where you need to go,
there are 1 and 3 day passes,
etc etc.

There is an app which I download,
to keep try of my balance
and to reload when needed.
Not that you need the app
for that, but it makes things
easier.

Sushi

Why does everyone
love sushi? I just realized
that Amanda talked about
it a few times, though I don't
think we ever went to a place,

Mew Mews

Also, Roommate
has two cats. I believe one
of them has become
my Chicago bestie!

Outro

Tomorrow's post will
probably be a lot shorter.
It will be about today and
I've decided to take things
easy. With my runner's knee
hurting and my other issues,
although I want to go out
and jump into exploring,
I've essentially decided
to keep it easy
today.
I will try to get some
pictures to share, though,
since I plan to meet up with
friends
for coffee.
