Logo Animations with Sara Mercado

My friend, Sara Mercado, created some concept logo designs. I went in and animated them with After Effects. For the first series, Acropolis Museum, I also put Illustrator to work!

Acropolis Museum

Creating this series was so much fun! I was able to add in my own simple graphics for this to create some action in the animations!

Athena Nike Animation

For the Athena Nike logo, I created a simple, gradient circle for the hoplon and simple shapes for the doru. I separated the individual shapes (sometimes having to re-create them for gaps created for the visual purpose of the logo) and then animated it to make the geometric person appear to be running.

Slopes of Acropolis

Slopes of Acropolis is all about daily activities for ancient Athenians. I've always had a small fascination with this part of history and picked one my favorites: the kylix. This little ceramic cup was shallow and wide, used to drink wine from. I quickly created the kylix in Indesign before placing it in After Effects to make the geometric person appear to be drinking to the point of sloppy stupor.

Parthenon Gallery

And finally: The Parthenon Gallery. The ancient Greeks didn't just appreciate war and wine, but also music. For this animation, I illustrated a lyre with music notes emitting from it. This way, the geometric figure appears to be performing for the viewer. Such romance!

Island Slipper

Island Slipper is a slippers company original from Oahu. The concept of the animation is having the slippers walk around an outline of the shape of Oahu.

Abegoa

For Abegoa, the brand focuses on pure, organic ingredients. All the graphics used were created by Sara. I created the effect of the leaves growing out.
