Costa Rica: Birds
During our trip, we came across some birds. Here are photos from my last post:
Supposedly, that owl is very rare and people pay hundreds of dollars for tours just to see it. I don't know the accuracy of that statement, but another rare bird we saw was the green macaw. Amanda and I didn't realize it at first, but there were two birds together. From the looks of it, the top one appears to be fussing at the bottom one before they finally fly away together.

Now tell me it doesn't look like the top bird is just straight up yelling. |

Other poor bird is just looking away. (It's in the bottom left, do you see it?) |

We were eating in this cute area in the countryside and sipping on some star fruit and rice water drink. Again, it was wonderful. When the tour guide rushed outside and spotted it after hearing it. It was pretty interesting how intense the guide was at seeing and hearing the wildlife around him. I mean, I know it's his job but I felt like he took it to a new level. At times, he'd even grab our phones and take photos for use through his binoculars. I'm sure others do this, but it's not like it was in the brochure.
Side Story:
While doing the hike to the volcano,
there was a little hiccup.
Long story short,
Amanda and I went to the bus
while the rest of the group finished the hike.
While at the bus, though,
we got to talk to the bus driver.
He was wonderful.
He enjoyed talking to us
and telling us about his story,
which was a sad one.
I just wished he got to finish what he was going to say.
We were interrupted when the tour returned
and one of the guys ran to the bus to get us
so we could hear the tour guide
tell his tales of the volcano
and some science things that
may or may not be accurate.
And he pointed this out,
being pretty transparent
but also passionate
about volcanoes.
I do wonder what those birds were arguing about, though...
From what I understand, these macaws (the images are blurry because they were taken at such a great distance) were common. These images were taken in Manuel Antonio from our hostel there.
