Coffee Steam (Animated Photo)
I am feeling much better today! I've decided I'm going to start selling my services for smoke animation on fiverr.com which I'll set up next week.
I got the image from pexels.com and the steam was completely animated in Adobe After Effects CC. A lot people have turned to Trapcode, which is an amazing resource and very convenient. Since that is an investment I'm not willing to make in my current situation, I'll stick to finding more price-effect ways. In this case, I used a plug-in that came with the application. So happy with how it turned out.

Just to clear any confusion up, as far as I know, you still can't create a gif with after effects. The animation was created with that application, then it was exported into images, then uploaded into Photoshop where it was exported into a gif. If this is what you're trying to do and you need help figuring it out, just leave a comment and I'll try to help you!
With that said, gif still isn't video, so here's the un-altered-because-of-low-quality-gif-file version:
